Kubota SSV65 and SSV75 Skid Steer Product Overview with Videos

Product Overview: A few years ago Kubota became one of the newest members of the compact track loader market with their SVL75 and SVL90. Both machines gained popularity in the construction, agriculture, and landscaping industries due to their large cabs, high horsepower, and easy to operate controls. Building on the success of their compact track loaders, Kubota has branched out again and entered the skid steer market with their SSV line of wheeled skid steers.

The SSV series skid steer loaders are very similar to the Kubota SVL series compact track loaders: they boast the largest cab on the market, have a fold up front door, have standard two-speed travel, and feature tier four compliant Kubota diesel engines.

Models and Features: The SSV line is currently broken into two machine models: the SSV65, a 65hp 3.5 ton machine and the SSV75, a 75hp 4 ton machine. The SSV65 has a rated operating capacity of 1950 pounds and a maximum lift height of ten feet. The SSV75 has the ability to lift 2700 pounds and has a break out force of 2.5 tons. Both machines have standard two-speed transmissions that give the operator the ability to cruise up to 11 mph. This is an added benefit to those who use their skid steers for road applications or large nurseries where the work is spread out. Some other notable features of the SSV line are the location of the fuel tank, the drive chains, and the drain hoses for the machine’s fluids. The fuel tank has been moved all the way to the rear of the machine and is part of the door. This adds rear ballast to the machine, increasing its stability and making the operator more efficient.

Kubota also designed the SSV to have four equal length drive chains, reducing the need to carry extra parts to maintain the machine. One task that can often be difficult with some brands of skid steers is performing routine fluid changes. Kubota SSVs make it easy to change fluids by having hoses plumbed to the bottom of the machine where a cover can be removed and all fluids can be drained into a pan.

Control Options: The SSV65 and SSV75 come with two types of control,s including hand and foot and ISO pilot controls. With the ISO pilot controls, the operator uses the right joystick to control the loader functions and the left to control the motion of the machine. The ISO system is easy to learn, making it beneficial for contractors who have multiple operators or employees who are new to running equipment. The ISO controls also allow the operator to move the machine while having one hand free to change light functions, turn on hydraulics, or use the hydraulic quick attach to attach or detach an implement.

Attachments: Wheeled skid steers are some of the most versatile machines in the marketplace because of their ability to run many different attachments. This trait often makes them more cost-effective to own compared to other equipment because they can complete a variety of different applications on the job site. To make the most of attachment opportunities, Kubota’s SSVs are equipped with auxiliary toggle switches incorporated into the hand controls, creating a very easy to learn and user-friendly attachment control system.  The Kubota SSVs can be paired with grapples to move debris, snow blowers to remove large amounts of snow quickly, bale grabbers to quickly and efficiently wrap hay, or to a myriad of other attachments to handle a wide range of jobs.
